New Year's 2008

We went up to Scotland a few days before Christmas and stayed until after the new year. Apart from the few days in Falkirk over Christmas, we stayed with the Alexanders in Edinburgh. It was very kind of them to put us up (and to put up with us) for so long and it was great to see Iain, Gillian, Amber and Cameron again.

The twins were very excited to have such a little baby around! Amber loved being assigned "babysitting" duties while I went to the loo, and Cameron just wanted to squeeze and hug him! They kept commenting on how small William was and what tiny hands, feet, nose, mouth, etc, etc, etc he had. One thing they noticed shortly after meeting him, "He has no neck!".

While we were in Edinburgh, I managed to arrange to meet with Isabel and Gemma. It has been a couple of years since I last saw them.

We celebrated New Year's eve at the Alexanders. They threw a small party and invited some friends (some had children who were Amber and Cameron's friends) and saw in the New Year. All the kids were in bed well before midnight. It took me a while to get William to sleep as there was so much excitement in the house, but he went down at about 11 pm, but woke up again at about 2 am, in time to say goodbye to the guests!

Overall we had a great 2 weeks in Scotland. William's first flights went well and was a good dress rehearsal for the real long haul flight to KL. We were very welcomed and comfortable at the Alexanders (and lucky they had lots of baby equipment we could use) and also at Granny Mary's. Thanks to everyone for a lovely first Christmas and New Year's in Scotland.
