Chinese New Year 2008

William spent his first Chinese New Year in Malaysia with his grandparents. On Chinese New Year's eve, we had the end of year dinner with Babu, Poh Poh, Yee Yee and her family and in laws.

Over the 15 days of the new year, he was also introduced to many relatives and received many ang pows and cuddles. He is generally ok with being held by anyone. I'm training him not to be too clingy to me in case in need to leave him with a babysitter.

As expected with the hot Chinese New Year weather, both William and I fell sick with coughs and colds. His rashes also worsened (he had a weeping sore on his left cheek!) so we had to go and see the doctor to get medicine and creams! He wasn't too unsettled by the cold, I think I felt the effects of the cold more.

It was also my birthday on Chinese New Year day and we got a cake to celebrate. Here we are with Dexel Koko, who loves birthdays and birthday cakes. William doesn't really know what's going on yet, and in this photo he's smiling at someone to his right. You can see the sore on his left cheek!
