Poh Poh's and Yee Poh's help

William will call my mom Poh Poh and my aunt Yee Poh. I couldn't have done this without Poh Poh's and Yee Poh's help. Poh Poh arrived from Malaysia on Saturday 8 September to help and cook for me during my confinement period. Yee Poh was around before then, and went with me to antenatal classes.

After William was born, Poh Poh stayed at the flat with us and Yee Poh came over daily. They cooked confinement food with lots of wine and ginger, as well as the sour pig trotters (it's yummy really). This helped very much as I then didn't have to worry about cooking and cleaning and could rest and concentrated on looking after William. I think all the good food also helped me produce enough milk for William's needs. Also, it really helped that someone was around to keep an eye on William when I took my showers.

However Poh Poh couldn't stay on forever and had to go back after 2 months. After she left, we tried to settle into our own routine... led by William! We visited Yee Poh often so that William is familiar with her and when necessary (like when I have a doctor or dentist appointment) Yee Poh would babysit.
Luckily she lives very nearby.
