Bathtime

William loves his bath. He only cried the once when he was bathed in the hospital before we were discharged. That was his first bath and I think the water wasn't warm enough for him.

The first time I bathed him at home, he was ok but as I lifted him out of his bath to get changed, he cried very loudly... everyone in the house was surprised and thought I had dropped him. I thought I had hurt him, like bent his arm the wrong way. But he was fine. He just didn't want to get out of the nice warm bath!!

Initially I had his little bath in the main bathtub, but the run from there to the bedroom was quite cold (and the weather was getting colder) so I set up his bath in the bedroom next to the radiator, and the changing mat was right next to the little bathtub. After Poh Poh went home, the bath and changing mat was then set up in the sitting room next to the radiator. However, that wasn't for too long... the little bathtub filled with water was always heavy to move, but the main reason for going back into the bathroom... William learned that it was fun to kick his legs in the water and splash water all over the place!!

I also got William a bath support so I don't have to hold him all the time and can use both hands to wash him. It was a lifesaver as he was getting very heavy and a little restless for me to support him. He quite likes reclining on the support and kicking his fat legs about!
