Following Chinese tradition, a party is held to celebrate when a baby is one month old. It is normally the first time when friends and relatives get to see the baby. For William, his party was held on Sunday, 7 October 2007. He was only 3 1/2 weeks old then, but 12 October was a weekday and the party needs to be held before, not after he is 1 month old, so 7th was the closest weekend we had. As there is no room in the flat for a party, we held a sit down meal at Gallant Chinese Restaurant, our favourite haunt. We had about 20 friends and relatives for an 8 course Chinese lunch. The restaurant owners kindly opened at lunchtime just for us!!
William spent most of the time in his push chair asleep, but managed to wake up for a feed, did an explosive poo that went all over the place and, after being changed into clean clothes, was passed around the table like a parcel!
